Balkan tour across Bosnia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania to Macedonia, covering Sarajevo, Mostar, Dubrovnik, Budva, Kotor, Tirana and Ohrid. Enjoy Ottoman heritage, UNESCO ancient cities, nature, waterfalls, lakes, mountains and war history.

Itinerary

Arrival at Sarajevo Airport in the evening followed by transfer to the hotel. You will go to the center of Sarajevo — a city known for its mixed Islamic, Ottoman Turkish and European cultures. Then check in and rest before tomorrow's activities.

Day 2

This morning move to the historical city of Travnik, the former capital of Bosnia during the Ottoman Empire. Visit to the old fort and the Old Town full of Ottoman architecture. Then to Jajce, the historic waterfall city and the location of the declaration of Yugoslavia in 1943. Stop at Pliva Lake and Mlincici water mills, a very unique natural area. In the evening return to Sarajevo for dinner and rest.

Day 3

Start the day with a walking tour around the historical Baščaršija , the Latin Bridge and the centuries-old GHB mosque . Then to Vrelo Bosne, a nature park at the foot of the mountain. Travel continues to Igman and Bjelašnica, historic sites of the Bosnian War and location of the 1984Winter Olympics. Enjoy stunning mountain views before returning to Sarajevo.

Depart for Jablanica, location of the famous “Battle for the Wounded.” Enjoy a traditional lunch of roast goat. Then to Blagaj which is famous for its Dervish Tekkeon the banks of the emerald blue river. From there to Mostar to walk around the Old Townand take pictures at the Stari Most, the iconic bridge of the Ottoman era. Check in to the hotel in Mostar and free time.

Morning to Kravice Falls, one of nature's most beautiful attractions. Then on to Dubrovnik, an ancient city surrounded by sea walls and now a UNESCO site. Walk in the Old Town which was once a famous maritime republic and visit the Islamic Center and City Walls (optional activity). Afternoon move to Budva, the oldest seaside town in Montenegro for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Heading to Kotor, the UNESCO-listed old town with the Venetian fortress. City tours, harbors and historic squares. You can also choose to ride a boat or cable car to enjoy the beautiful view of Kotor bay. After lunch, return to Budva to rest at the hotel.

Day 7

Move to Bar, the historic town and location of the Islamic Center. Then to Tirana, the capital of Albania with a mix of modern and classical architecture. City tours include Skanderbeg Square and Bunk'Art. Afternoon departure to Ohrid, a lake city called "Jerusalem of the Balkans" because of the number of old churches.

Day 8

Breakfast and tour ofSamoil Fortressandthe ancient theater ofthe Hellenistic era. Then explore Ohrid's old town, which is filled with Byzantine-era buildings. Enjoy lake views and boat ride opportunities on one of Europe's oldest lakes. Free time in the evening to wander around.

Depart for Matka Canyon, the location of spectacular limestone views and deep underwater caves. Can ride a boat as an optional activity. Then to Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia famous for Ottoman bazaar, Stone Bridge and Alexander square. Check in and have dinner.

Breakfast, check-out and transfer to the airport according to the flight time. End the trip with beautiful memories of Islamic heritage, history, nature and UNESCO Balkan cities.
