Itinerary
Upon arrival, start your city tour by visiting Abanotubani, the historic sulfur bath district famous for its unique rows of brick domes. Next, take a cable car (subject to maintenance schedule) to the Narikala Fortress, an ancient fortress that offers a spectacular view of the entire city of Tbilisi from a high level. Walk across the Bridge of Peace which is a modern glass structure with a unique architecture, and stop for a photo at the eccentric Leaning Clock Tower like in a fairy tale. End the day's tour with a visit to Holy Trinity Cathedral (Tsminda Sameba), Georgia's main Orthodox church and iconic large-scale landmark.
Begin the trip with a visit to the Ananuri Fortress, a beautiful medieval palace complex from the feudal era by the river, followed by a photo stop enjoying the view of the blue lake water at the Zhinvali Dam. The journey continues into the mountains with a photo stop at the Friendship Monument which displays colorful mosaic art with a stunning view of the valley. Afterwards, depart for Kazbegi and board a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle to visit Gereja Triniti Gergeti (Gergeti Trinity Church). This iconic church sits majestically on top of a hill with a peaceful backdrop of snowy mountains (this tour is subject to weather conditions).
Today, visit Uplistikhe, an ancient city that is unique because its entire structure is carved directly into the limestone formation and it is one of the oldest settlements in Georgia. The journey continues to the city of Kutaisi to visit Bagrati Cathedral, a masterpiece of medieval architecture built in the 11th century and a symbol of the unification of Georgia. Then, stop for a photo at Ukimerioni Hill to enjoy the panoramic view of Kutaisi city from a high place.
Start the day with a taste of local life at the Green Bazaar, a lively traditional market offering fresh local produce such as cheese, spices, and sweets. Next, stop to take pictures at the historic site Gogia Fort before heading to Borjomi Mineral Water Park. In this verdant garden, you can stroll while experiencing for yourself the natural mineral water directly from its world-famous springs. Upon arrival back in Tbilisi, take time to visit the Dry Bridge Flea Market (subject to availability) to hunt for antiques, Soviet-era architecture, and unique souvenirs.
Depart for Mtskheta, one of the oldest cities in the country. Visit Jvari Monastery, a historic monastery from the 6th century located on a hilltop, offering a beautiful view of the meeting point of two rivers. Next, visit the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most important churches believed to hold Christ's holy robe. After soaking up the ancient history, spend some leisure time shopping for designer goods at the Outlet Village before returning to the hotel.
Free time for you to relax at the hotel or explore the surrounding area until it's time to transfer to the airport for your flight home.
