Itinerary
Arriving at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, participants will be warmly welcomed by local representatives before being taken to the hotel for check-in. After a short rest, enjoy a welcome lunch or dinner at Shirvanshah Restaurant, one of the famous traditional restaurants in Azerbaijan. The main dish is Azerbaijani Pilaf with chestnuts and meat, a perfect combination of spices and the softness of fragrant rice that reflects the authenticity of Baku's taste.
After breakfast, the tour starts at Highland Park to enjoy the amazing panoramic view of Baku city and the Caspian Sea. Next, visit the Heydar Aliyev Center, a futuristic piece of architecture designed by Zaha Hadid that has become a symbol of Azerbaijan's modernity. The journey continues to the Old City (Icherisheher) – a mesmerizing stone-walled city with narrow lanes, Maiden Tower, Caravanserai, and old mosques that reflect the history of the past. Lunch at Dolma Restaurant, with the main course Dolma – grape leaves with meat core which is fragrant and tender. In the evening, enjoy dinner at Shah Garden Restaurant while feasting on Lamb Kebab which is perfectly grilled, full of aroma and taste.
Breakfast at the hotel before heading to Yanardag, a natural volcano that has been burning non-stop for hundreds of years — the symbol of Azerbaijan's “Land of Eternal Fire”. Continue to Ateshgah (Temple of Fire Worshippers), an ancient temple that was once a sanctuary for Zoroastrians. Next, participants will participate in an Azerbaijani cooking class where you will have the opportunity to learn how to prepare traditional dishes such as Lula Kebab before enjoying it for lunch. Afternoon free for relaxing or shopping in Baku city.
The journey continues towards the beautiful regions of Shamakhi and Sheki, two cities full of history and natural beauty. Stop by Shamakhi winery for a wine tasting experience while enjoying the enchanting vineyard atmosphere. Lunch at Shamakhi with main course Saj Lamb, lamb meat cooked on a hot iron pan full of fragrant spices. Next, head to Sheki, an ancient city at the foot of the Caucasus mountains known for its classical architecture and peaceful atmosphere. Dinner at a local restaurant with a specialty of Piti, a traditional Azerbaijani soup slow-cooked in a clay pot — the perfect cap to a day full of experiences.
