Itinerary
13:30 – Hotel Pickup
Your journey begins with pickup from your Kota Kinabalu hotel. A comfortable air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced local guide will escort you on a scenic 2–3 hour drive through the Sabah countryside, passing rustic villages and serene coastal landscapes.
16:00 – Arrive at Weston Jetty
Welcome to Weston, a riverside town steeped in railway history. At the jetty, enjoy a short river transfer across calm waters to reach Weston Jaafar River Lodge, nestled among mangrove forests.
16:15 – High Tea at the River Lodge
Upon arrival, relax with a traditional Sabahan high tea—fresh banana fritters, sweet glutinous rice snacks, and local herbal drinks served on a deck with riverside views. It’s the perfect pause before the wildlife cruise.
16:45 – Mangrove River Safari
Hop aboard a pontoon-style river boat for a tranquil cruise into the heart of Borneo’s mangrove ecosystem:
- Look out for Proboscis Monkeys swinging in family groups across the canopy
- Watch for Silver Leaf Monkeys, known for their baby-orange fur
- Egrets take flight in dazzling flocks, while crocodiles sunbathe on muddy banks
- Occasionally, playful otters and majestic kingfishers make an appearance
Your guide will point out unique flora, fauna, and conservation insights throughout.
17:45 – Sunset Viewing
As the boat slows down, marvel at the vibrant hues of the famous “Reddish-Fire Sunset.” The sky transforms into breathtaking shades of crimson, orange, and gold—perfect for your camera or contemplative silence.
18:30 – Riverside Dinner

19:30 – Fireflies Night Cruise
As darkness sets in, embark on a serene boat ride through mangrove tunnels lit by thousands of fireflies. The trees sparkle like a fairy tale, synchronized in twinkling rhythms. This natural phenomenon is best viewed in silence—just the boat’s soft glide and nature’s glow.
20:00 – Depart for Kota Kinabalu

22:00 – Hotel Drop-Off
