Explore Siem Reap’s ancient temples, including Angkor Wat, enjoy a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake, then visit Phnom Penh’s Royal Palace and Killing Fields.
Itinerary
Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, will be greeted by guide and transfer to the city. The first stop is Western Baray, an ancient water reservoir built during the Khmer Empire, notable for its immense size (8 km long and 2 km wide). It played a crucial role in the empire’s sophisticated hydraulic system. Next, visit Wat Bo Temple, a significant 19th-century Buddhist pagoda. After checking into hotel and refreshing, embark on a Floating Village tour at Tonle Sap Lake, one of the world’s largest freshwater lakes, where can observe local life. The day concludes with a visit to the Old Market and shopping. Dinner is at a local restaurant, and then have a free time at Pub Street, famous for its nightlife. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Start a day by visiting Angkor Thom, the massive walled city built by King Jayavarman VII. Key sites include the Terrace of the Leper King, Bayon Temple with its distinctive stone faces, and Baphuon. Then visit Ta Prohm, a sprawling temple overtaken by the jungle, famously featured in the Tomb Raider movie. In the afternoon, explore Angkor Wat, the largest religious building in the world. Its intricate architecture and grand size are awe-inspiring, and can watch the sunset from Bakheng Mountain for a panoramic view of the temple complex. Dinner is accompanied by an Apsara dance show, showcasing traditional Cambodian dance. Overnight in Siem Reap.
In the morning, visit the Silk Farm in Puk District, located 18 km from Siem Reap, where will learn about the traditional process of silk making, from silkworms to finished fabric. Also visit the Western Baray again, a key feature of the ancient Khmer irrigation system. After lunch, travel by bus to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. Upon arrival, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and check into hotel for the night.
After breakfast, start a city tour with a visit to the Royal Palace Complex, which houses the Cambodian royal family. Explore the beautiful Royal Gardens and visit the Throne Hall, where royal ceremonies occur. The Silver Pagoda is next, a unique temple adorned with 5,000 silver tiles. Visit the Independence Monument, King Norodom Statue, Chaktomuk Riverside, and Naga World, the largest casino in Cambodia. Then, explore Wat Phnom, a historical temple that sits atop a hill and offers views of the city. In the afternoon, visit the Killing Fields of Choeng Ek, a memorial site for victims of the Khmer Rouge regime, and Russian Market, known for its diverse range of goods. Finish day with a visit to the Central Market, an iconic Art Deco building. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
After breakfast, check out of hotel and transfer to Phnom Penh airport for return flight to Kuala Lumpur, marking the end of the tour.
